Structure of the Program and Study Plan

The Bachelor of Economics program at the Prague University of Economics and Business is a structured threeyear, full-time course taught entirely in English. The curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive foundation in economics, legal sciences, and social disciplines, with a special emphasis on international economics and politics. Each academic year is divided into two semesters, each comprising 13 weeks of lectures followed by a 6-week examination period.


Academic Calendar

Each academic year consists of two semesters:

Winter Semester: Starts in late September, exams in January and February

Summer Semester: Starts in mid-February, exams in May and June


Graduation Requirements

To graduate, students must complete 180 ECTS credits, which include:

• Core mandatory courses – oP

• Elective courses – oV

• University elective courses – cVB

• State Exam – 5EKEB – extrasemestral course

• Bachelor Thesis and its Defense – 5OBP – extrasemestral course


oP- Faculty or Programme MANDATORY courses – need to pass

oV- Programme – optional course – Students can choose some of the courses in this group, ideally 32credit

oJx/cvB – Language courses and courses from the whole Uni Offer
