Basic parameters of internships
-
Internships are conducted at foreign institutions in both the public and private sectors. However, internships at EU bodies, institutions, and other EU-related entities (including specialized agencies – link) or organisations administering EU programmes (e.g. Erasmus+ national agencies) are excluded.
-
Internships must take place in Erasmus+ Programme Countries excluding the Czech Republic and the student’s country of origin (i.e. not overseas destinations).
-
The typical duration of the internship is approximately three months.
-
Students from any year of study are eligible to participate.
-
The internship tasks must correspond to the student’s field of study.
-
The internship must be unpaid; however, students are entitled to an Erasmus+ grant, the amount of which depends on the destination country.
-
Students are required to write a professional semester paper of 15–20 standard pages based on the internship content (see details below).
-
Upon completion, students will additionally receive 12 reserve credit vouchers.
-
The internships are primarily intended for students of the Faculty of Economics (NF VŠE).
1.Organisational guidelines
-
The student must contact the Vice-Dean for International Relations with a detailed internship proposal. The Vice-Dean will assess the internship’s eligibility for credit recognition and assign a course supervisor.
-
The student prepares the required documents (Training Agreement) and arranges for them to be signed by the host institution. On behalf of the Faculty of Economics, the document is signed by the Vice-Dean for International Relations.
2. Course of the internship
-
The student works in the relevant department of the host institution.
-
During the internship, the student communicates regularly with the course supervisor regarding the semester paper and develops its concept.
3. Enrollment in the course
-
The internship must last at least three months.
-
After returning from the internship, and ideally before the beginning of the next semester, the student submits the internship completion certificate and a description of the internship to the Vice-Dean for International Relations.
-
The student will then be allowed to register for course 55F350.
4. Internship Project
-
The project must be a minimum of 15 standard pages in length.
-
It must combine theoretical knowledge with practical insights gained during the internship.
-
The topic must reflect the internship’s content and must be approved by the course supervisor.
-
The formal requirements are equivalent to those applied to qualification theses.
5. Final evaluation and defence
-
The course supervisor sets the submission deadline for the semester paper and schedules the defence. The defence will take place in front of the supervisor and another academic staff member.
Internships may be recognized from the Spring Semester 2022/2023 onwards.
